4. Acquisition of private and public funding
The acquisition of public and private
funding is necessary because these projects are very labor- and
cost-intensive. They cannot therefore be realized through volunteer
work alone.
The Transylvanian-Saxon cultural heritage is a very rich treasure.
In addition to numerous material objects, especially in
Transylvania. The Transylvanian Library in Gundelsheim/Germany alone
houses over 95,000 bibliographic units. Since the Transylvanian
Saxons now live scattered around the world, particularly in Germany,
Romania, Austria, Switzerland, the USA and Canada, the digital
recording and processing of this heritage is of central importance.
Without the use of the latest
technologies, especially generative artificial
intelligence, a comprehensive appropriation, preservation and
further development of the Transylvanian-Saxon cultural heritage is
hardly conceivable.
Attracting private and public funding is
essential to achieve this ambitious goal.
GENAI offers enormous potential for cultural preservation
and is a highly topical issue that is likely to attract significant
interest from both private and public funders.
